Counselling

What is Counselling?

Counselling is a talking therapy that offers you the space to explore any problems, fears or anxieties that you may be experiencing. It may feel like your life is out of balance and you no longer wish to try to manage this alone.

 

Often, we repeat patterns of behaviour that we have learnt - which are not always our own. These can interfere in our relationships not only with others but also with ourselves. The counselling relationship provides a safe environment in which to articulate and explore these patterns and feelings, to gain a deeper insight and understanding of yourself.

 

In the initial consultation, we will discuss what has brought you to counselling and, depending on your needs, agree on a number of sessions which will later be reviewed. If further counselling is required, this will again be agreed between us.

 

Appointment times and other practical details will all be agreed at the initial assessment session. I work with both Adults and Adolescents.
